Civil Defense Stand-Up
Displays
I have several standup
table displays in my collection. These displays are really some of my
favorite items. The "Fallout Protection" sign at the top was
part of a display I sold in the early 1980s. Some guys were opening a
nuclear themed nightclub in Dallas and I offered it to them thinking it
would be displayed in the club. I never saw it in the club and have been
"kicking myself" for 20 years for selling it. I have never seen
another display like it in 20 years of collecting this stuff. The sign
was suspended above the display on a couple of wires that mounted on top.
I can't remember why I didn't include it with the display. At least I
still have some of it. The "Industrial" "Schools"
and "Supplies" displays were all "rescued" from the
Dallas Civil Defense warehouse before it was cleaned out in 1981. The
"Home Preparedness" and "Shelter Designs" displays
were purchased from ebay sellers over the last few years.

a Civil Defense bookcover I purchased from an ebay seller. I would have
given anything to have these on my books in school. Click on the
